One day, about six weeks back, I was just browsing the internet and came upon this idea of not using shampoo. I was instantly for it, even though I hardly did any research on it at that point. So I started not using shampoo and using baking soda in its place. I also stared using apple cider vinegar in place of conditioner. Check out the blog where I found reasons to not use shampoo and what to use instead.
So how is my hair after six weeks of no shampoo? Amazing! My hair is not as frizzy as it used to be and it drys much faster! I tried not using the apple cider every day but my hair started getting dry and brittle. So don’t stop using the apple cider vinegar, but only put it on your ends, otherwise your scalp will get greasy very fast. I also have gone one or two days without using the baking soda without my hair looking greasy, but that has varied over the past six weeks.
Why did I do this? I have been looking to go more “all natural” in the products that I use, you know, not using so many harmful chemicals. But there is also the benefit of saving money since baking soda is super cheap and has so many other astounding uses! And apple cider vinegar has too many benefits to count! Those benefits would come from unpasteurized apple cider vinegar which is not what you can buy at the grocery store, but you can make your own!!! That is my next project, as soon as I figure out what to do with the apples.
