Hydrangeas are my favorite flower. I have two huge bushes which all the flowers are pink except for the one in the picture above. I love how much their color can change with the acidity of the soil. The blue hydrangeas are my favorite, which is why I chose them for my wedding five years ago.
Five Year Anniversary
I’ve been married for five years, already! Time has flown by so fast. But to celebrate our fifth anniversary we took a week trip to Washington state. We visited Mars Hill Church, had lunch with one of my blogging friends, and stayed at this cozy little cabin.
We had a relaxing time. We ate so much delicious food! And oysters, for the first time! They were sooo good.
Anyways, Back To Reality
So many big things have been happening in my life since vacation that I haven’t had the time to stop and process them, and I have felt overwhelmed. Why? Because my focus has not been fully on God. I have been living my life the way I want to and knowingly ignoring God’s will. How do I know this? I asked Him.
Often, I think I just want to get this and this done and then I’ll do what God wants me to do, but how silly am I to think that way? Forgive me, God, for thinking that my plans are more important than Yours. Only after I confessed this are my eyes opened. I see where the Holy Spirit is leading me, and some of the reasons why these big things are happening, which God in His grace has shown to me. I am spiritually refreshed.
A Song
God has put a song in my heart for the past couple months, here’s how it goes:
Open my eyes that I may see Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready, my God, Thy will to see; Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit Divine!
Open my ears that I may hear Voices of truth Thou sendest clear; And while the wave notes fall on my ear, Everything false will disappear.
Open my mouth and let me bear Gladly the warm truth everywhere; Open my heart and let me prepare Love with Thy children thus to share.
